Modulational instability in double-doped optical fibres

Abstract: Modulational instability in double doped optical fibres with a non-Kerr nonlinear refractive index change has been analysed in the anomalous dispersion regime. Applications to fibre-optic coherent communication systems and all optical signal processing are briefly discussed.
