PE4 NQSTI

The project is part of the initiative: Extended Partnerships
Scientific Coordinator: Cataliotti Francesco Saverio
Project description: The Extended Partnership aims to create the National Quantum Science and Technology Institute (NQSTI), a consortium that (i) will bring together Italian entities carrying out competitive and innovative research in the field of quantum science and technology (QST), and (ii) will stimulate future industrial innovation in this field, providing a forum where new ideas and opportunities are transferred to companies. To guarantee a long-term positive effect on Italian economic growth and development, the entire innovation chain was considered: thus, from the strengthening and coordination of low-TRL research, to its translation into prototypes, favoring interfacing with industrial needs thanks to strong awareness and continuous training programs. NQSTI also aims to create and incubate spin-offs and start-ups that can move research results up the TRL ranking with significant resources and a special focus on the southern regions.

Speech by: FRANCESCO CATALIOTTI (CNR NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF OPTICS), QUENTIN DEPLANO (RESEARCHER IN PHYSICS UNIV FLORENCE) on the second NQSTI meeting
ABSTRACT: A new tool explores the boundary between classical and quantum physics thanks to a collaboration between the University of Florence and CNR. It is an optical trap that observes phenomena typical of both physics. In 2025, the importance of quantum science will be celebrated. see the interview
