Abstract: We report on optical trapping ultracold rubidium molecules. The molecules are produced in the ground triplet state through photoassociation and radiative decay from laser-cooled atoms and are confined in the focus of a CO2. laser beam. The molecules are observed by photoionization and ion detection. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
