Critical phenomena in delayed maps

Abstract: A phase transition mediated by chaotic defect dynamics is observed in a simple discrete-time model of a delayed dynamical system. A numerical estimate of critical exponents permits one to insert the transition in a proper universality class, within percolation phenomena.
