Abstract: The influence of intra-channel pulse interactions and inter-channel collisions in the transmission performance of dispersion managed fiber optics links is examined. The theory of dispersion-managed solitons is applied to optimize the dispersion map, reducing both interactions and cross-phase modulation-induced timing jitter at the system output.
