Abstract: A simple and compact parallelogram mirror drive based on flexure pivots suitable for intermediate resolution Fourier transform spectroscopy is presented. The system permits 12 mm of mirror translation with a residual tilt of less than ±0.4 mrad in the horizontal plane and ±0.2 mrad in the vertical plane. A system prototype was built and fully characterized for a Fourier transform spectrometer operating on a stratospheric balloon.
